 | CHEQUERED FLAG This flag is waved from the Start/finish line to indicate the end of a practice session or the race.

 | GREEN - ALL IS CLEAR Always displayed stationary. -It is shown on the first lap of practice or warm-up as well as on the sighting lap (when the competitor leaves the pits to form up on the grid) -It is also shown after an incident when the previous post is showing yellow flag/s to indicate that the sector is being exited and racing may continue once the competitor has passed the green flag. |

 | YELLOW - DANGER AHEAD Stationary single yellow flag: -indicates that there is an incident beside the track.
Waved single yellow flag: -indicates that there is an incident on the track, off the racing line. Stationary double yellow flags: -is normally shown when the next sector is showing double yellow waved flags. Waved double yellow flags: - indicates that the track is wholly blocked and must also be shown at the last post before the grid at the start of a race when competitors are on their sighting lap and are going to line up on the grid in order to warn them that there are officials on the grid. When an obstruction occurs in a sector and a yellow flag is being waved, the preceding post can display a stationary yellow flag depending on the distance of the flag posts and the incident to warn drivers in good time of the danger.
Yellow flags are always shown for 2 laps only, and then scaled down. NB: Overtaking is not allowed whilst the yellow flags are shown. NOTE: In the case of a red flag being called, the sector where the incident has occurred will still display yellow flags. This is to indicate to the competitors and medical crew where the incident / accident is. |

 | WHITE – SLOW MOVING VEHICLE AND/OR SERVICE VEHICLE ON CIRCUIT Denotes either a service vehicle (ambulance, etc) or a competitor moving very slowly. It must be waved while the vehicle is in the vicinity of the flag and then held stationary when the vehicle enters the next sector after which it will be withdrawn.
NOTE: Should the vehicle stop on the track, the white flag must be replaced with yellow flag/s. |

 | CHANGE OF SURFACE Always displayed stationary when there is oil, sand, stones, water, etc. on the track. In the case of motorcycles it is very important to inform the riders when it starts to drizzle as the track will get slippery. This flag will then be shown with one hand pointing to the sky. This flag will be shown for 2 laps only after which it will be withdrawn. |

 | BLUE FLAG – COMPETITOR BEING OVERTAKEN Should be shown: -During practice or qualifying when a faster vehicle wants to overtake slower vehicles. -During a race only when the slower vehicles are being overtaken by the leaders. -This flag should be shown stationary when a faster vehicle is closing up rapidly and waved when a competitor is about to the overtaken or is overtaking. |

 | RED FLAG – RACE OR PRACTICE SESSION HAS BEEN STOPPED -This flag should be waved when a race or practice has been stopped by the CoC due to a major incident or accident. NOTE: The only sector that will now display yellow flags will be the sector where the incident took place. |

 | BLACK FLAG – EXCLUSION -This flag is displayed stationary together with the competitors’ number. The competitor has been disqualified for a transgression of the rules.
This flag may only be shown when ordered to do so from Race Control. |

 | MECHANICAL DEFECT -This flag is displayed stationary together with the competitors’ number to indicate that the vehicle has a mechanical defect, e.g. oil leak; loose body part; etc. and he must call into the pits to rectify this.

 | UNSPORTSMANLIKE BEHAVIOUR -This flag is displayed stationary at the start/finish line with the competitors’ number. -This flag notifies the competitor that he/she is under observation for unsportsmanlike behaviour, e.g. consistent bumping, etc.
